Carnac is in Brittany [Bretagne] in France
Carnac is famous as the megalithic site.
Carnac stones are the symbol of Celtic culture.

We could see many tall standing stones in Kermario alignment.

Kercado dolmen
The entrance of the Kercado dolmen was very small.
But we could enter it as we were small.

The passage inside the Kercado dolmen was very dark.
That scared us. We couldn't see anything.

We couldn't see anything. There was nothing inside.
But axes, arrowheads, animal and human teeth, sherds, and gem were found there.

"Manio giant [Géant du Manio or Menhir]".
There was a single massive menhir which is 6.5m high in Manio giant.

"Kerlescan alignments [Alignements de Kerlescan]"
Kerlescan alignments were smaller than other alignments.

"The tumulus of Saint-Michel 

[Tumulus Saint Michel]" is on the hill.

It is a bit far from other alignments.
Unfortunately the tumulus was under construction.

At least, we could see the chapel from outside the fence.

Episode of Carnac stones

Carnac in Brittany [Bretagne] keeps Celtic culture and famous as the megalithic site. There are some myths. But we don't know why & how such megaliths were put still now. It's a mystery... so Tomo & Chouchou was curious about megalith. We decided to visit once in our life!

As soon as we arrived in Carnac, we could find megaliths. Beside the parking lot, there was "Maison des Mégalithes", so we asked where to visit. To enter "Ménec alignments [Alignement du Ménec]", we need a guide. Unfortunately there was no tour guides because of the off-season, so we couldn't enter Ménec alignments.
But we could see Ménec alignments enough outside the fence. We could even succeed to take some photos.
We moved to the next alignment called "Kermario alignment [Alignements de Kermario]" by car. We could enter Kermario alignment. We could see many tall standing stones in Kermario alignment. Kermario alignment was very large. We could see the long stone rows from the slope.
Next, we visited "Kercado tumulus".  The entrance of the Kercado dolmen was very small. Inside was very dark and scary. But we decided to enter. There was no lights so we couldn't see anything. We decided to take some photos with the flash light and see the photos later.  On the photos, there was nothing. But it was the good opportunity to discover inside the dolmen.
Next, we visited "Manio giant [Géant du Manio], also called Menhir". Manio giant was very high as it is called "Giant". It was more mysterious why such a giant stone was standing there. It was a moment to experience the mystery.
We also visited "Kerlescan alignments [Alignements de Kerlescan]". Kerlescan alignments were smaller than other alignments. We didn't stay long there as we visited many other megalithic sites.
There is a tumulus called "The tumulus of Saint-Michel [Tumulus Saint Michel]" on the hill where is a bit far from other alignments. Unfortunately there was under construction, so we couldn't approach and see the chapel and a tomb.
At least, we could see the chapel from outside the fence.

Carnac is too famous for the megaliths. However there are also beautiful beach and sea in Carnac. Carnac has also a casino.
We could enjoy the history through megaliths and we could also enjoy the nature.
Carnac was very attractive city to visit!
