Peach-picking
peach picking in Yamanashi

Episode of Makaino stock farm & peach picking

Tomo&Chouchou joined a day tour which travelled around Mt. Fuji such as Mt. Fuji 5th station[富士五合目], Asagiri-kogen Makaino Bokujyo (stock farm)[朝霧高原まかいの牧場] and peach picking.

First, we went to Makaino stock farm which is located in the Asagiri highlands [Japanese: Asagiri-Kougen; 朝霧高原] where is at the foot of Mt. Fuji.
In Makaino stock farm, we can try to cook handmade stuff, we can touch some animals and we can see the beauty of nature.
There was a small pasture in Makaino stock farm. There was a Mongolian ger [=yurt in Turkic, гэр in Mongolian] there.
There was a forest called "Hammock no mori". This forest was peaceful area.
There were many animals such as sheep, goats and cows in Makaino stock farm.
We could try hand-milking in Makaino farm. It was the first time for us to take milk from a cow by hand. But we could do hand-milking well. :-)
Also we can take several cooking lessons to make butter, cheese, cookies or sausages. We took a seasonal cooking lesson to make an ice cream by hand.
We put the all ingredients in the container then rolled over so many times. It was tiring to roll over for a long time but we succeeded to make an ice cream! :-) It was very natural milk flavour and good.
We ate grilled mutton dish called "Jingisukan" at the farm. It was included in the tour. It was enjoyable to eat Jingisukan in the nature.

Next, we went picking peaches [Japanese: 桃狩り] in Yamanashi. Tomo loves peaches. So Tomo was so excited to go picking peaches. It was so delicious to eat peaches as soon as we picked. Tomo wanted to eat peaches more but there was a time limit because of the tour. But Tomo was so satisfied to experience peach-picking.

Tomo&Chouchou's advice for peach picking

Normally we can eat peaches as much as we can. Even if you cannot eat a lot, you can buy some peaches there. You can also buy some peach sweets or peach wines etc..
If you love peach like Tomo, we can assure that you would enjoy picking peaches.
